The Community Caring Center provides:
Emergency Food, Shelter and Financial Assistance to families in
crisis
– The
program assists families through an emergency by paying a utility
bill that is going to be disconnected, or a rent or mortgage payment
when a family has received an eviction notice. These funds may be
applied for providing that the family has a plan that demonstrates
how they will be able to make the utility/rent/mortgage payment the
next month. Assistance is available only once a year per household.
The Center also provides for an emergency food pantry and monthly
access to USDA products for income eligible clients. Funds are also
available to provide a one- or two-night stay at a motel for
temporary emergency shelter, prescription drug assistance (no pain
medication is allowed), or emergency transportation assistance.
Homeless Outreach Program -
Outreach services are provided to homeless on Monday’s at Grace
Community Church’s “Soup Kitchen.” Access program is available to
homeless for on-line applications for food stamps, medicaid, &
prescription drug assistance. CCC coordinates invitations to various
other service providers to provide information regarding medical
treatment & access to shelter programs. CCC is a member of Palm
Beach County’s Homeless and Housing Alliance.
SHARE (Self Help and Resource Exchange)
Food Distribution Program
(http://www.shareflorida.org)
– Food is purchased at the beginning of each month and is picked
up at the end of each month. You may purchase as much food as you
wish by providing 2 hours of volunteer time somewhere in the
community. This is generally not difficult. You may give time to
your local church, school, hospital, library or any other
not-for-profit organization; simply provide a kindness to you
neighbor by offering some respite service; or by driving
someone to the
doctors. You get the idea! Volunteer hours are waived during
Thanksgiving and Christmas to allow for donations to organizations
like ours that help to feed the hungry. We use the SHARE program
gifts for our
“Holiday Cornucopia Project”

each year. You may purchase SHARE packages at our offices;
145 NE 4th Ave. Mon – Thurs 9 AM to 1 PM
129 E. Ocean Ave. Sat 8 AM – 2 PM during the Green Market season Oct

You may call us with your order at
(561) 364-9501 ext.(s) 21, 22, 25, 24 for
Spanish, or 29 for Creole and then mail in your check;
Or, you may also purchase

to us or to an individual who can then call or come in to place
their order.

Economic Development
– CCC’s small business incubator program
encourages entrepreneurship. It’s 5-year plan to establish a
cooperative
grocery is a strategy to promote capital investment, increase local
employment,
and improve access to affordable and sustainable food centers. The
incubator uses
the “Green Market” program as a tool to develop the market concept.
The concept is developed in CCC’s “Creating a Healthier Community
Initiative.”
(concept paper will be online soon)

weekly by volunteers from various gleaning sites throughout Palm
Beach County. USDA products are picked-up from the Daily Bread Food
Bank monthly for those who are income-eligible. |

Volunteer Recognition
Each April, CCC holds a volunteer
recognition luncheon. The lunch is prepared by staff to honor the
many volunteers who assist CCC in its daily work. Volunteers help
with special projects throughout the year, as well as, ongoing
activities such as the Faith in Action program, stocking food
pantry, and preparing food packages for clients, landscape
maintenance, clerical work, preparing snacks for “Healthy Snack
Wednesdays,” shopping for produce, or preparing a community garden
