  Emergency Food Pantry

The pantry is used for hurricane preparedness; assistance to the homeless, elderly citizens on fixed incomes, and grandparents on fixed incomes raising grandchildren; and assistance to those experiencing emergency situations, such as illness, loss of employment, or the death of a primary income provider. Persons using food stamps must participate in the SHARE program to receive assistance through the food pantry.

CCC has worked with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Project Hope, local congregations, and the United Way of Palm Beach County to provide emergency assistance to the victims of Hurricanes Frances, Jeanne, Katrina and Wilma. CCC also works with the Guatemalan-Maya Center to assist vulnerable populations with hurricane preparedness. Annually CCC organizes the

Thanksgiving “Holiday Cornucopia” Project.

CCC is a member of the Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County, organized by the United Way. CCC certifies clients to receive U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) food products, which are delivered to the pantry by Stop Hunger, Inc. each month. CCC also is a Community Partner with the Florida Department of Children and Families. CCC staff assist clients to apply online for food stamps, Medicaid benefits, and prescription drug assistance. Appointments for online application assistance are scheduled for Wednesdays from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and on Saturdays from 9:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. (for those who work during the week).
